You don't have to carry this alone.

Many women reach out for therapy when life starts to feel heavier than it should — when anxiety won’t quiet down, emotions feel harder to manage, or you’re constantly showing up for everyone else while feeling depleted yourself. Therapy offers a space where you don’t have to explain, minimize, or push through. This is a place to slow down, feel supported, and begin making sense of what you’re carrying.

Let's Start Your Journey towards Healing

Therapy for women navigating real life changes

Many women reach out for therapy when life starts to feel heavier than it should — when anxiety won’t quiet down, emotions feel harder to manage, or you’re constantly showing up for everyone else while feeling depleted yourself. Therapy offers a space where you don’t have to explain, minimize, or push through. This is a place to slow down, feel supported, and begin making sense of what you’re carrying.

Common concerns women seek therapy for

  • Ongoing stress or feeling emotionally drained

  • Anxiety that won’t quiet down

  • Low mood, burnout, or loss of motivation

  • Relationship strain or boundary challenges

  • Major life changes like divorce, career shifts, or caregiving

  • Grief, loss, or unresolved emotional pain

  • Self-doubt, perfectionism, or harsh self-talk

  • Past experiences that still feel close or triggering

  • If anxiety is a major concern for you, you can learn more about my approach on the Anxiety Therapy page.

  • If low mood, burnout, or emotional heaviness is showing up, visit the Depression Therapy page.

What therapy can help you work through

Women often come to therapy seeking relief from constant stress, anxious thoughts, low motivation, or feeling emotionally stuck. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening coping skills, and creating meaningful change — at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, confident, and equipped to handle both current challenges and future transitions.

Anxiety and depression often overlap

For many women, anxiety and depression don’t exist separately. Worry can turn into exhaustion. Stress can become numbness. Feeling overwhelmed can slowly lead to feeling disconnected. If either anxiety or depression is part of what brought you here, you’re not alone — and support is available.

Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?

No. You don’t need a diagnosis or to have everything figured out. Many people start therapy because something feels off, overwhelming, or heavy. We’ll work together to understand what’s going on and what support may help.

Is this therapy only for women?

I work with adults ages 25 and older. I welcome all individuals seeking care.

Can anxiety and depression be treated together?

Yes. Anxiety and depression often overlap, and therapy can address both at the same time. Treatment is tailored to your experiences, symptoms, and goals.

Do you offer in-person or telehealth sessions?

I have an office space in Watertown, CT for in-person therapy, and I also offer telehealth sessions for adults who prefer the convenience of doing therapy at the comfort of their homes.

Do you accept insurance for therapy sessions?

Desiree offers clear information on therapy rates and insurance options for Connecticut clients. Some plans may cover services, and self-pay options are also available. Visit the Rates & Insurance page to learn more about affordable payment options.
